Who is JORDAN?

Jordan Ybarra was a miracle and inspiration to us all. He smiled and laughed his way into the hearts of many, on many occasions, with his grace and charm. He was the picture of perfect health. Jordan never gave anyone the impression that he was a challenged baby with chronic renal failure.

Jordan entered this world due to a serious car accident, he and his mother Rebecca, endured during the 7Th month of pregnancy. Doctors proclaimed there was simply no hope for Jordan to live through to birth. Due to low amniotic fluid during the pregnancy, Jordan was in a dry bag in utero for 7 months. A miracle occurred and Jordan was born prematurely at San Antonio Community Hospital through emergency C-section on February 27, 2006. Jordan weighed 3 lbs. 2 oz. He was born with underdeveloped lungs, an enlarged heart, two failed kidneys and a blocked bladder. Three days later Jordan was transferred to Children's Hospital of Orange County's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Level 2 Hospital where his serious conditions could be monitored. He was receiving fervent prayers from all over the globe.

Miraculously, his heart and lungs were tested and declared in perfect condition. While there, Jordan underwent 2 surgeries, 2 blood transfusions and opened his eyes for the first time at 2 weeks old. At 3 weeks of age he was transferred to Loma Linda Medical Center to initiate steps to become transplanted with a new kidney. He started dialysis at this time and encountered several infections that led him into isolation. He developed peritonitus, an infection that could have caused him to stop dialysis, resulting in death. After another two and a half weeks of continuous, non stop prayer, Jordan shocked all the doctors once again and was miraculously healed of this infection.

he begun drinking milk by bottles and gaining strength. He started interacting, smiling, laughing and talking constantly. After 10 more surgeries and 5 more blood transfusions at Loma Linda Hospital, the doctors said he would never gain weight with a feeding tube placed in his stomach. Well...Jordan never got that feeding tube, but he did what he always did and shocked doctors once again. Jordan performed supernaturally well. The day he left the hospital, he weighed 14 lbs. 12 oz. the doctors confessed it was a miracle to see a baby with renal failure this chubby and healthy with out a feeding tube. he, of course, was supposed to be weak and frail. Jordan was technically an eight week premature baby, yet he still grew and thrived like a normal 5 month old baby. He advanced and developed rapidly.

Being discharged from the hospital July 18Th, 2006 at 4 and a half months old, Jordan finally got his wish, to be free. He finally got to see where home was, breathe natural air and laugh and play with his big sister Sky. We showed him off to the world, and his entire family.

"Jordan we want to thank you for showing all of us...how to live , laugh and love. We will forever hold you in our hearts. Jordan, you proved to us that miracles DO exist and they are alive and well because in this short period of time we have encountered numerous of them and we are blessed due to this experience because of you Jordy."
For those of us who spent time with Jordan we have witnessed greatness and the ultimate thrill of unspeakable joy. For those of you whom have never even met Jordan, he has inspired you through his living testimony.

Please remember... this is not a mourning of death...but, a Celebration of Jordan Ybarra's beautiful, inspirational and wonderful Life!
